Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your HaikuVibe account from inside the app. Deleting your account removes your profile and all personal data stored in our system.

Important: Deleting your account is permanent. Your haikus will remain visible to other users but will appear as posted by “Anonymous”. No one will be able to view your profile, and your identity cannot be recovered.

1How to Delete Your Account (In-App)

Follow these steps inside the HaikuVibe app:

  • Open the Profile page.
  • Tap Edit Profile.
  • Tap Delete Account.
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

2What Happens Once Confirmed

  • Your account is permanently deleted from Firebase Authentication.
  • Your personal data (username, email, profile image, date of birth, and similar fields) is removed from Firestore.
  • Your haikus remain but are fully anonymized.
  • Viewing your old profile will show “Profile not found.”

3Data That Remains After Deletion

To preserve collaborative haikus created with others, your contributions remain in the app. However, they are not linked to you in any way:

  • Your username is replaced with Anonymous.
  • Your profile picture is removed.
  • Your user ID is detached from all haikus.
  • No one — including admins — can see who originally created the haiku.

If you cannot access the app to delete your account, email [email protected] with the subject Account Deletion Request. Requests are processed within 30 days.
