- —User Content: haikus, images, comments, and likes you create.
- —Content Reports: spam, offensive, harassment, inappropriate, copyright, or other violations, plus details you enter.
- —Support Communications: screenshots, messages, and descriptions you send to support.
2. Information Collected Automatically
- —Device Information: model, OS version, unique IDs — for app functionality, debugging, and security.
- —Usage Data: interactions, screens viewed, time spent.
- —Location Information (With Permission):
- —GPS Location: precise location used to determine city, state, and country via reverse geocoding.
- —IP-based Location: approximate location for security and feature enhancement.
How We Use Your Information
- —Service Provision: account creation, haiku collaboration, profile management.
- —Location-Based Features: local themes, nearby poet discovery, and regional recommendations.
- —Content Moderation: reviewing reports, enforcing policies, and ensuring a safe community.
- —Administrative Functions: authorized moderators access reports, removed content, and audit logs.
- —Communication: technical notices, updates, support messages.
- —Security & Fraud Prevention: Firebase App Check and other systems detect suspicious activity.
- —App Improvement: analytics, crash diagnostics, and feature performance insights.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your data. Limited disclosure occurs only in cases of:
- —Platform Administrators: access for moderation and safety enforcement.
- —Service Providers: Firebase (database, storage, authentication, messaging).
- —Legal Requirements: valid requests by authorities.

App Permissions
- —Location:
- —Fine (GPS): for precise city, state, country detection.

- —Location is optional; core features still work without it.

- —Photos / Media: uploading haiku images.
- —Notifications: likes, comments, updates.
- —Network Access: connect to backend services.
Your Location Data Controls
- —Grant or revoke location access at any time in device settings.
- —Location-based features are optional.
- —Disabling GPS does not affect core haiku creation.
Data Retention & Deletion
Content Moderation & Soft Delete
- —Content removed by moderators is soft-deleted — hidden but retained for audits, abuse investigations, or legal compliance.
- —Report records remain stored for accountability.
Your Rights to Delete Data
- —In-App Deletion: Go to Edit Profile → Delete Account. This deletes your personal data and authentication credentials immediately.
- —Email Deletion Request: Email [email protected] with subject Account Deletion Request. Processed within 30 days.
What Happens to Your Haikus After Deletion?
Your haikus and collaborations remain visible to preserve the creative contributions of all collaborators, but:
- —Your name, username, profile picture, and identity are removed.
- —Your posts appear as coming from "Anonymous".
- —Attempting to view your profile will show "Profile not found."
- —No remaining content can be linked back to you.
Children's Privacy
HaikuVibe is not directed to children under 13. We delete any such data if discovered.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically and update the "Effective Date" accordingly.
